“Living with Epilepsy.” “Let’s talk about it.”

Good morning!  Yes, it is snowing in CT.!

This morning I want to discuss the wonderful events that the Epilepsy Foundation in each and every state offer.  Please check with your local chapter to view the list of the exciting events that you can be a part of.  Today, I want to focus on the event coming on November 3, 2017 that the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut will be holding.  It is the 11th Annual Think Positive Gala, which will be held at the Aqua Turf, in Southington, Connecticut.  The exciting part of the Gala is to raise money which is used to inform and educate people about epilepsy so that the “stigma” of today is a thing of the past.  The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut  offers support to those of us who have been diagnosed with Epilepsy as well as helping their families or friends with education and guidance.

This past years Gala Raised $35,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation.  There were over 200 guests in attendance.  All guests enjoyed this special event.  Jennifer Bayles was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award.  She began working on this even 10 years ago for her sister who has epilepsy.

Thank you to the following donor sponsors for this event: Lundbeck, Eisai Pharmaceuticals and Hartford Hospital Epilepsy Center. Yale Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Willington Nameplate Inc., KGC Direct, and Gregory Sparzo.  The hard working Gala Committee members to make this event happen were: Jennifer Bayles, Trina Bayles,m Sara Golembeski, Jennifer & Nora Dorau, Meha Joshi and Debbie Prendergast.  They also worked on the beautiful auction items.

Meteorologist Darren Sweeney of NBC Connecticut was in attendance and also was the Master of Ceremonies.

Please donate and attend this Gala November 3, 2017.  I personally am looking forward to donating and attending this amazing event!

Remember… “Epilepsy”, “Let’s talk about it.”

Have a terrific day!!

Maria
