Earbuds in listening to “The Rescue” by American Hi-Fi, I connect my Advocacy for those struggling with the diagnosis of Epilepsy and are fearful to share their voices with the lyrics of this song.
Unfortunately, being diagnosed with Epilepsy or any ailment is difficult, challenging and life changing. The fear of telling a new employer about your diagnosis is very difficult and can be scary. Worrying about “silent” discrimination when having a diagnosis is very real. I have been seizure free for 19 years but take medication for life. Being able to help so many through my love and passion of the written word is an honor and privilege. It is unfortunate that the “silent” discrimination has also effected me. My strength and ability to help others will not allow discrimination to prevail. I am a writer who blogs about the challenges and stresses that can be connected with Epilepsy. My goal is to bring strength to the forefront for those who live in fear.
“I’m thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength.” – Alex Elle
Remember… Epilepsy, just talk about it…
